September is just around the corner, so naturally I’ve been working on my September bucket list.
It’s still pretty warm and summery where I am in the south, so it doesn’t quite feel like fall. That makes pumpkins and fall foliage walks out of the question. But, there are still plenty of fun September activities to do that I’m super excited for.
During my monthly reset routine, I like to make a bucket list for the upcoming month. That being said, here’s my September bucket list!
try a new apple variety
September is THE apple month. There are so many apple varieties out there and I thought this month would be the perfect month to try a new one!
make an apple dessert
Apple crisp, apple pie, apple crumble, stuffed baked apples—I mean the options are endless. I’m so excited to make apple desserts this September.
visit the farmer’s market
Farmer’s markets are so fun. I like to eat seasonally when I can, so markets are the perfect way to easily shop for local and seasonal produce.
drink a chai latte
I love chai lattes. I exclusively drink them in the fall and winter, so now that September is here I’m so excited to start drinking them again.
make apple cider
Speaking of drinks, I’d also love to make apple cider. I’ve never made it homemade before—I usually just buy a jug and heat it up on the stove—but maybe I’ll try to make it homemade this year.
eat seasonally
Like I mentioned with the farmer’s market, I’d like to keep eating mostly seasonal. It’s so fun and makes me feel more intentional and connected to the earth’s cycles.
It depends on where you live, but some seasonal produce for September here in the States are pears, grapes, beets, and potatoes.
create a fall playlist
With a new month and a new season, it is a must to create a playlist. I love making playlists when new cycles of life arise because then when I listen to them later, I feel the feelings from that time. It’s so magical.
Since around September 22nd is officially fall, I’m going to make a fall playlist this month.
plan fall wardrobe
Nothing beats autumn outfits. Since cooler weather is just around the corner in a few weeks, I’m going to start planning my outfits for the fall and start shopping for some new pieces.
go thrifting
Speaking of planning a fall wardrobe, I’ll definitely be thrifting. I’ve been coming across so many good finds lately and I can’t wait to start shopping for some cozy sweaters.
go to a local bookstore
Man, I love books. Bookstores are one of my favorite places on the planet—right up there with grocery stores and lush, mossy forests.
I’m excited to visit some local bookstores around my area for some new and used books!
make a fall craft
I haven’t decided what I’ll make yet, but I definitely want to make a fall craft this month. I’ve been wanting to play around with air-dry clay, so I might do something with that.
Speaking of crafts, here are my favorite cozy hobbies if you want some more ideas.
soak up the last days of summer
While I’m so, so excited for fall, I don’t want to rush time or live too much in the future. Life is here right now and where I live, I still have many days of summer left.
For the next few weeks I’ll still be enjoying days reading at the beach and warm nights watching the sunset—soaking it all up while I prepare for cooler days.
