My family and I just spent a week in Nags Head, North Carolina. We ate at many different restaurants, but there was one we couldn’t stop talking about. If you find yourself in the Outer Banks make sure to stop by this incredible waterfront seafood restaurant in Duck.
AQUA Restaurant in Duck, NC
AQUA is right on the sound with amazing views and live music every night. Their menu is well-labeled which makes it easy to order with allergies and they also have some vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options.
We went on a weeknight and didn’t need a reservation. Above is where we sat while waiting about twenty minutes for a waterfront table on the outdoor deck. Luckily our wait was short, but I would’ve waited even longer because the view was so worth it!
I had the Duck Diva (on the right) to drink. When I saw the name on the menu, I just knew I had to have it. It was so good, with just the right amount of sweetness. Also, it was very strong—they certainly have a heavy pour here, which was appreciated by all of us.
I ordered the Pan Seared Scottish Salmon, which was genuinely one of the best meals I’ve had in a while. It was the perfect texture, flaky and buttery, as it melted in my mouth.
It’d been a few years since I had seafood and I wasn’t sure if I’d still like it, but this was incredible.
The food was good, but the views were even better. For the views alone I’d go back. Watching the sun melt into the sound was my favorite part of the entire trip.
